An Inconvenient Truth
Al Gore’s documentary film fom Paramount about global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, opened yesterday. Gore was right. He did, after all, literally write the book on the subject. Hell, Jimmy Carter was right. I’m no tree huggin, granola crunchin, scruffy beardin environmentalist–I happily drive a Jeep, fer chrissakes–but you’ve got to be absolutely insane to believe that global warming is not real. We Minnesotans have to wait till June 9 to see it at the Uptown. Here’s the trailer:
And here’s Gore being interviewed by Katie Couric on The Today Show (from Atrios at YouTube):
Here’s Gore’s campaign ad from 2000 (from waltisfrozen at YouTube):
But, of course, Fox News trots out Sterling Burnett, oil industry spokesman, to slam the movie and compare Gore to Nazis (from PragmaticChaos at YouTube):
And something called the "Competitive Enterprise Institute" is currently running these ads in response to Gore’s movie (from CEIdotorg at YouTube):
I love the classic Bush logic at the close. State a fact and assert the the polar opposite is true. "Cabon dioxide. They call it pollution. We call it life."
Really?!? Well, lot’s of luck with that.
And, finally, here’s a bonus vid of a Celebrity Deathmatch between Al Gore and Weird Al Yankovic (from carbulo at YouTube):
