Gerald Ford In Context
President Gerald Ford died yesterday at 93 years of age. President Ford took office in the wake of the Watergate scandal and Richard Nixon’s resignation and managed to, as he told Congress, bind the nation’s wounds. No small feat. Many believe his pardon of Nixon cost him re-election but in retrospect was a courageous move that allowed the country to move on.
