Super Bowl Shuffle – The 1985 Bears
First of all, I’m not a Chicago Bears fan; this year’s team, especially. The Bears are not a Super team by a long stretch, but you gotta hand it to them because they just kept winning games they should’ve lost on their way to this year’s Super Bowl.
The last time they made an appearance in the big game was 1985. That team was overflowing with talent and it showed when they demolished the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX, forty-six to ten, in one of the most boring Super Bowls ever played. The most memorable thing about that game was that defensive lineman William "Refrigerator" Perry scored on a touchdown run as a fullback but one of the greatest running backs ever to play the game, the late Walter "Sweetness" Payton, did not get a chance to score.
The Bears’ talent off the field, though, was dubious:

Walter Payton had a breath-taking combination of power, speed, quickness, agility, elusiveness, and vision that was absolutely brutal for Vikings fans such as myself because we had to face him twice a year.

The ’85 team had such a personality and so many characters on it, that it and their fans became a part of the culture, largely through a recurring skit on Saturday Night Live featuring George Wendt, Mike Myers, and the late Chris Farley:
