During the 80s, First Lady Nancy Reagan‘s most high profile initiative was her Just Say No to drugs campaign. It became such a part of the culture that it was memorialized in a dream sequence in the 1990 Meryl Streep film Postcards From the Edge.

Crack cocaine is a highly addictive substance and its use reached epidemic proportions during the 80s. Entertainers were enlisted for PSAs against drugs. This public service announcement was by a music group named Turning Point. I’ve never heard of them and I wonder if anyone had heard of them at the time:

This was a White House-sponsored anti-drug music video from the 80s that featured New Edition, LaToya Jackson, a pre-drugs Whitney Houston, Nancy Reagan, David Hasselhoff, Casey Kasem, Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others.
