This is a very cute and very well done animated short by some French animation students at Ecole Superieur de Réalisation Audiovisuelle. L’engrenage is the "story of an unfortunate chick, who tries to find true love and break free from the routine and confining mechanism of a clock," with a surprising ending, according to the description at IFILM.
