Queen Elizabeth’s 1957 Televised Christmas Address

For the first time, Queen Elizabeth II addresses the British "empire" in 1957 by a television broadcast. Many of her sentiments sound absolutely contemporary. She warns against foolishly abandoning tradition and then goes on to boast of two new "additions" (otherwise known as colonies) to the commonwealth. Very interesting:
