Evel Knievel Motorcycle Crash

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

was a pop culture icon when I was a kid whose fame was earned as a motorcycle daredevil. I remember the hype surrounding his attempt to jump . He was all over TV and he made an impression on me as a little boy.

We had this miniature kids’ picnic table with one set of legs broken off. I looked at it one day and realized that it would make a perfect ramp from which to do Evel Knievel-style stunt jumps using my bicycle. So I set it up in the street, put on my football helmet, grabbed by bike, raced up and over my makeshift ramp…and promptly fell off my bike and landed directly on the top of my head. It was a damn good thing I was wearing my football helmet. Some role model Knievel turned out to be.

This clip is of his most famous motorcycle crash at in which he broke 40 bones. There’s no gore, but if you’re squeamish, you might want to take a pass, because you can see bones breaking:

The BBC’s wonderful animated series and touring the States. This gives new meaning to the phrase Dinosaur Rock. The shows feature animatronic life-sized dinosaurs that roam the stage as, judging from the clip below, a musical!. Except for the rather unfortunately obvious tracks that run beneath the beasts, they look damn lifelike. I totally want to see it.

Here’s a clip that someone took from a show in Brisbane:

This clip is about T Rex:

This is the promo for the Minnesota show at the in Saint Paul on April 8:

If you’ve never seen it, this is a clip from the television show Walking With Dinosaurs:

Britney Spears Anime

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

This is funny. Someone mashed up Britney Spears "Break The Ice" with Japanese anime. That’s what I originally wrote. What’s even funnier is that this is the official video for "." Actually, it’s not bad, as a music video:
