I Am Iron Man

Everyone says I have to see , what with the special effects and all. I’m sure I should but as usual, I don’t have time. I only have time for the trailer, so here it is:

Not being a comic book aficionado growing up, when word first came that an Iron Man movie was to be made, I was unaware that the film would be . The only Iron Man I knew of was the one sung about by (or, as my Slovak friend would say, "Blat Sabbat). The logical question I asked was whether the song was inspired by the comic book character, as well. As , make clear, it is not. Here’s an early performance of Iron Man by a young and the band, decked out with trippy 60s-style special effects:

I meant to write about this last month when I saw it at (from courtesy of ) but I just hadn’t gotten around to it. So, in an effort to clean up some of my “draft” posts, here it is. This cartoon was intended as part of based on an album of children’s songs, , by bassist .

Glover was asked to do the soundtrack for the film, apparently abandoned, but based on a by and illustrated by . The children’s book was based on by , called, of course, “,” about a party for small animals and their insect friends.

In addition to Glover himself, the album features such rock standouts as future & frontman (who sings , the song in this clip), and future singer . Love is All betrays not a hint of Heavy Metal despite it’s pedigree of composer and musicians; it sounds more like a psychadelic Beatles song (““):
