Before Peter Gabriel‘s Sledgehammer, there was Frank Zappa‘s City Of Tiny Lights video.

The claymation was done by Bruce Bickford, who often collaborated with Frank Zappa. Bright Eye Pictures produced a biopic about Bickford called Monster Road that’s now on DVD. Here’s the trailer:
