Watched Unknown last night on HBO. Very good movie: Five men wake up in a locked-down warehouse with no memory of who they are. They are forced to figure out who is good and who is bad to stay alive. Found at YouTube from sloanelewis.

opens tomorrow. They’re calling  it an inspiring true story and I guess it is in many ways but for me it’s the ultimate fantasy: To be able to try out for a professional football team. Damn! Wouldn’t that be cool?

The movie stars as , a season ticket holder who tried out for the 1976 team after then-rookie head coach announced he would have open tryouts. plays Vermeil and looks uncannily like the young coach.

In 1963 sports writer attended spring training with the and ran a few plays from scrimmage as a quarterback for the team during an exhibition game. Plimpton’s experiences resulted in the book and the movie it was based on, . The stories are obviously simliar but whereas Plimpton’s experience was simply material for a book, Vince Papale was seriously competing for a spot on the roster:
