This is one of the films of prolific American animator and cartoonist Winsor McCay, whose work influenced some of the classic cinema titles like Salvador Dalà and Luis Buñuel’s L’Age d’Or, Mary Poppins (1964), Dumbo (1941), King Kong (1933). Joshua Glenn of the Boston Globe has created an audio slideshow presentation that traces these influences.
