Kurt Vonnegut Jr. & His Works

at 84 years of age. He was one of my favorite contemporary writers. I discovered him in college and then voraciously read all his works. I was absolutely delighted by his writing style.

The story may be apocryphal, but according to my college writing teacher, when Vonnegut taught at  the , he’d rip the first page off student’s work and say the story started there because beginning writers often write a prequel to the actual action of the story.
